Welcome to Talaba Speak! These pages are a way for us to reconnect, share and most importantly, laugh. Let's keep the spirit of our family reunions going strong and welcome new folks into our quirky little bunch.
Why the name Talaba Speak?
As we've grown up, there are certain words and phrases that have become part of our family history. As it turns out, everyone remembers different words, pronunciations, etc. In the early 1970's, we had a family member from Romania come to Detroit and visit. When several of the family tried to talk to them, they couldn't understand us. They said, "that's not Romanian, that's Talaba Speak."
We are proud of our family, our heritage, and our "pigeon language." Spend some time on the site and learn more about our lovely family.
Thanks for visiting!
Charles Vasile Talaba and Ana Mushat:
We are all descendants of Charles and Anna. I think they'd be proud and amazed at what we've accomplished as a family. Be sure to share your pictures and stories with us.
